Liam Update

Liam had his one month appointment a couple of weeks ago. He weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs. 6 oz.!!! That means he's gained almost 3 lbs. since leaving the hospital. His pediatrician was quite impressed with the weight gain and wanted to know what we're feeding him. Just formula but he seriously eats 4 oz. every 2 hours. It's been a rollercoaster ride ever since we brought him home. He has horrible congestion and reflux. He's on Zantac for the reflux and we're just hoping that the congestion eventually goes away on its own. He will see a pulmonologist next week so that we can be sure it's simply congestion and nothing else. Otherwise, he'll have to get an upper GI and barium swallow performed at the hospital. I really hope it doesn't come down to that because he's already been through enough. I'm amazed at how much he's changed in just a few weeks and I'm thrilled that he's starting to give actual smiles (not gas smiles) and make adorable baby noises. To all of my friends out there with more than one child.... you are my heroes because I seriously underestimated the challenges of motherhood!!
