The nursery...so far and other tidbits

It's been so long since I last posted. I knew that I'd be horrible at this blogging stuff. Anyway, I'll try to catch everyone up on the last couple of months, although it really hasn't been too exciting.

So, here's a picture of the beautiful paint job in the nursery compliments of Jeff. I wanted to get the painting completed before the shower and definitely before the arrival of the crib. Since I can't paint, the duty fell upon poor Jeff. I picked the colors and created the design and then tried to pump Jeff up about it. I've never painted stripes before and I will admit that I grossly underestimated the degree of difficulty it involved. Jeff worked on it all day Sunday then after work on Monday and Tuesday. He was not happy about it and I think the fumes made him a little crazy but he now admits that it was so worth it!! I couldn't agree more. Now the room is full of baby shower gifts that have yet to be organized and put away. I figured I still have time and besides nesting is supposed to kick in at some point, right?! Jeff and I like to take the stroller for a test drive around the house every now and then. I know, we're the epitome of new parents but we're enjoying every minute of it.

I'm at 30 weeks...finally!! I'm feeling fine except for excruciating leg pains at night. Other than that, everything is coming along fine. I know that I'm supposed to gain about 1 pound per week now but sometimes I feel like I'm gaining 1 pound per day. Yikes!! That's really the only scary part these days. We're just anxiously awaiting our little guy's arrival but it seems so far away. Oh, actually, the really scary part is my CRAZY dreams. I always tell Jeff about my dreams when I wake up and he officially thinks I'm crazy. Most of them are pretty amusing but some are just down right scary. Last night I dreamed that Jeff wanted to get pec implants. We went to the doctor's office and I had no idea what was going on. Then he dropped the bomb on me and the doctor started preparing for surgery. I pleaded with him and told him to just workout if he wants big pecs! I told him that he could die like Kanye West's mom (died the other day from plastic surgery complications). Anyway, I eventually talked him out of it after many tears and pleas. Now I think I'm officially crazy! Hopefully the holidays will help pass time quickly.

Speaking of holidays, Jeff said that he's not putting up his "Griswold" Christmas light display this year. That makes me sad but I understand. There's just too much going on. Although, I think once he sees other people putting up their lights that he won't be able to resist. He's very competitive when it comes to Christmas lights! We'll see.
