My first blog...

I've finally given in and started our family blog. This is actually so much easier than emailing everyone with updated baby news. Yes, we are FINALLY expecting our first child after eight years of marriage. If it were up to Jeff, we'd have 8 kids by now!! We are expecting our baby boy on January 20, 2008. We are both so excited and Jeff already has our little guy's athletic future planned. We were both shocked at the ultrasound because we were absolutely convinced that we were having a girl. Of course, this was based on unscientific reasons. The first reason is because I've had several dreams about our baby girl. Well, that was completely wrong! The second reason is because Jeff's brother, Tim, performed a necklace test and concluded that we were having a girl. Here's how it works: You take a pendant necklace and hold it still over the expectant mother or father's wrist. You tap the pendant 3 times on the wrist and then if it begins to swing in a circle that means you're having a girl but if it stays in place then you're having a boy. Well, the pendant determined that we were having a girl and Tim claimed that this test has been 100% accurate on everyone that he's tried it on. So much for the necklace test!!

Anyway, we've started to think about names but nothing yet. I think we've been through every name possible and none of them feel right. So, I've put that on the sideburner for now and am focusing on decorating the nursery. I don't want a themed nursery so it's proving a bit difficult to find things that aren't cheezy!
